Informantion

(def. simultaneous and contradictory attitudes or feelings) is a creative direction studio specializing in live event coverage. My work takes into account the innate spiritual elements of art to authentically convey an artist's self-actualized nature. Through covering hundreds of events in various states + countries, this exercise has become a delicate exploration of the dance between self & other. I work with artists of all sizes, scales, and genres.

The Weeknd About

“The After Hours // Til Dawn tour was a cinematic experience, not a concert.”

Rina Sawayama About

“The subject matter of her music often includes introspective feminist and LGBTQ+ lyrics, often tackling personally challenging issues. Sawayama's deep understanding / organic analysis of these topics is exemplified by her post-secondary education at Cambridge, where she studied political science.”

Denzel Curry  About

“I had the privilege this week to share the stage with Denzel Curry, arguably one of the most exciting figures in rap music. In a time of relative mainstream stagnation for the genre figures like Denzel are consistently pushing the genre forward with introspective & thought provoking lyricism.”

Daniel Caesar About

“I knew Daniel Caesar's set would be interesting based on my correspondence with Live Nation beforehand. They told me Daniel's first three songs of the set would be performed under a massive curtain. Prior to this show, photographers were only allowed to capture images during those songs. Denver was the first date where that policy was changed to allow the first six songs. I was stoked, to say the least, about this change. Little did I know the photos of Daniel under the curtain would be by far my favourites from the concert.

The show's setting was angelic in nature, surrounded by the smoke of fog machines and heavenly diffused white light from LED boards.”

Thundercat About

“My highest expectations, however, were placed towards Thundercat, a two-time Grammy-winning bassist who has contributed to artists including Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Erykah Badu, and Childish Gambino. Coupled with his 90s-early 2000s videogame aesthetic and colour maximalist outfits, I knew witnessing a Thundercat set would be engaging.

It became apparent instantaneously just how skilled of a bassist Thundercat is, absolutely shredding on his bass. I expected nothing short of perfection when witnessing his live set, and that was what I ultimately received. Witnessing someone of this calibre front row in the photo pit is an absolute delight.”

French Kiwi Juice About

“Upon arriving to the event, I met with FKJ’s MGMT, who could not have been nicer. I sat with FKJ and talked to him about his goals for my photo coverage. The assignment he gave me for the show was “do your thing,” which is my favourite assignment to get.

FKJ and I talked for a bit about life, travel, and artistry before he headed out to prepare for the show. I’ve covered a lot of shows and interacted with many celebrities, and I can honestly say FKJ and his MGMT were some of the nicest / most welcoming people I have met behind the scenes.

The set was fantastic, displaying his unique talent as an artist. Center stage were several instruments, including guitars, keyboards, synths, sequencers, and much more. Seamlessly, FKJ flowed between all of these inputs, performing in a unique/multi-faceted set. The skill needed to fulfill all of these functions (often playing multiple instruments simultaneously) cannot be understated.

Coupled with the absolutely jaw-dropping LED visuals behind FKJ - his set was truly unbelievable. At times I was taken out of my photo captures just to have a second to take in the environment.”

King Krule About

“I was taken aback by how energy this set was. Listening to a lot of King Krule’s music I thought one of his live sets would echo more introspective and atmospheric. However, most of the set was King Krule having fans moshing with reverb heavy guitar riffs over dark ethereal light. This performance was a thing of beauty.”

Yeule About

“I was standing stage right, a bit elevated and had perspective on Yeule as well as the crowd. Yeule was alternating between soft-depressed shoegaze aesthetics, abstract dream-pop, and ambient tones. At times the tracks would even break down into screamo performances in which she would yell at the crowd to jump and even meow for them.”

Armand Hammer About

“The rap duo Armand Hammer is composed of two individuals, Billy Woods and Elucid. Armand Hammer have been a force in the underground for sometime, far outperforming many of their contemporaries within the genre.

Their approach to hip-hop is experimental and abstract, often incorporating the use of double or triple entendres with abrasive sounds. Listening to an Armand Hammer project is something that cannot be done without your full conscious attention since you will inevitably miss the subject matter they reference passively.

I had specific instructions to obscure Billy Wood’s face.”
