The town of Jeffery City is like many abandoned towns in North America - a boomtown that went bust. With a population of 58 (less, according to locals) and two children in their K-12 school, the town is surrounded by abandoned buildings and remnants of an economically prosperous time. We stopped in town @ Monk King Bird Pottery, which was one of the few open buildings in the entire town.
There, we interacted with a kind man - who showcased his creative works from across the years and told us about his time in the war.

Sustainable alternatives have always been proposed to governments, but none more unique than the 'Targeted Grazing' enacted by the city of Calgary. The premise is to take a pack of herded goats across the urban hillsides of the city, cleaning up trash & removing invasive plant species. The process uses hundreds of goats, and they stay in town for weeks at a time.
This initiative allows both humans and animals to benefit.

Driving out six and a half hours to the middle of rural Alberta to look at dioramas of taxidermied gophers wouldn't be first on everyone's list. Right after COVID lockdowns were getting lifted in Alberta, a buddy and I made the trek to Torrington to see the 'World-Famous Gopher Museum.'
This town is gopher-themed and quite the unique location - with signs all around town pointing to this absurd location. I would highly recommend making the drive out and experiencing it yourself.
